Why did you get into the salsa business?
I created a recipe for salsa merely from a need. I clearly remember the day I created my recipe in April of 2011 it was a sunny Sunday afternoon. I went to the cupboard I saw chips but no salsa. I had other bills to pay, so I decided to create my own. I loooove cooking and rarely use a recipe and if I do I usually give it my own twist. I never write down a recipe I create, but this day was different I wrote every little detail. Friends and family loved it!

How long has Muchacha been around?
I officially launched Muchacha Salsa at a demo June 15th 2013

How has breast cancer affected your life and/or how did you learn about The Lynn Sage Foundation?
I have been so fortunate not to have any breast cancer in my family but know of someone that has. As I was creating my brand and especially because Muchacha means girl I knew that somehow someday I wanted to help and give back to someone. Before I officially launched my salsa, I saw an ad for The Lynn Sage Foundation in a magazine, and I immediately called and asked how I could help. I clearly remember Laura Sage saying thank you for reaching out and then saying “you are a new business maybe we can help you” I was so touched at her response – our partnership formed from that conversation!

Where can we buy your salsa?
Anyone that is interested in finding our salsa can go to our website at www.muchacha.biz

Who is your dream dinner date and/or which Chicago restaurant would you go to?
I’m an Entrepreneur with a very creative career history. I’ve gone from cosmetology to interior design to food and now Muchacha. I would want to sit with someone that shared the same interest in business so I would have to say Mark Cuban. He has achieved so much and defied all odds with his gutsy- fearless personality and his straight forward ways. He is a Philanthropist and awesome on Shark Tank! The restaurant would be The Signature at the 95th. It has the most perfect view of our beautiful city!

Is the way we think about cancer outdated? These stories from people living with cancer may change your perspective.

In a newly published study by Brigham and Women's Hospital, researchers found that while more women are proactively opting for double mastectomies, there is no evidence suggesting survival benefit over breast conservation.

Cancer's 'Achilles' heel' discovered by British scientists raising hope of 'cure'. Findings mean each patient 'would have a unique, bespoke treatment' that marshals immune cells to exploit the weakness identified.

The latest study to show that treatment for breast cancer is shifting after years in which women, particularly those with early-stage breast cancer, were encouraged to have less invasive surgery — and patient advocates opposed outpatient or "drive-by" mastectomies.
